"The Axis of Diagram" starts instantly and gives another twist to Moonfog inspired black metal, you know; Satyricon, Thorns, DHG, Disiplin and some more. The shredding saxophone is so uncommon, yet so wonderfully done, it kicks you to the groin immediately. This is Hesperus Dimension! And their music "The Cyclothymic Panopticon" is more than the average post-black metal band. Before the mini album the Polish band also released their demo "Mental Electricity" three different times. Anyway, it's easy to say what "The Cyclothymic Panopticon" sounds like: a more industrial version of Thorns. Nineteen percent of all guitar parts are sounding as they were written by Snorre Ruch himself. Speaking about big names, there's also Bard "Faust" Eithun doing some spoken words on "Through Drowsy Daydreams". The weird samples, bleeps and programming increase the industrial ratio. Bands like Aborym, DHG and Control Human Delete already explored this genre But Hesperus Dimension brighten up the scene with a very good sounding "The Cyclothymic Panopticon". Without any doubt most fanatic black metal fans will reject Hesperus Dimension The label of "post-black" would scare them away even before listening. But I'm even surer anyone into industrial and extreme metal would dig the three guys from Gdańsk.
